What exactly is Tandem Paragliding?
Tandem paragliding is a unique way to experience free flight, where you glide smoothly through the air with the help of a professional pilot, no training or prior experience required.
Paragliding itself is a sport where a person flies a lightweight, foot-launched wing, similar in shape to a parachute, using wind, thermals, and air currents to stay airborne. It’s completely engine-free, making it one of the most peaceful and natural ways to fly.
In tandem paragliding, this thrill is shared with a certified pilot who handles everything, so you can relax, take in the views, and enjoy the ride. You’re securely harnessed together, and after a short run on a slope, you’re gently lifted off into the sky.
Your flight typically lasts 20–30 minutes, depending on weather conditions, and each experience includes a GoPro camera with a selfie stick to record your entire journey in high definition.
Where it takes place
Takeoff Point: Kijabe (Kenton) Hill Summit, a 600m-high viewpoint above the Great Rift Valley.
Enjoy views of Mount Longonot and the expansive escarpment.
There’s a rest area with benches and tables for relaxation or preflight briefing.
Landing Field: A 70-acre grassy field 2km away from launch, with a shaded gazebo for refreshments and watching landings.
Getting There:
From Nairobi, take Waiyaki Way/Naivasha Road (~1 hour) to Kenton Flyover.
Continue 4km on a scenic off-road trail (30 minutes) to the summit.
A 4×4 vehicle (e.g. HiAce or Gameviewer) is recommended.

How it all works
Takeoff Point:
- You’ll be welcomed by our pilots at the summit.
- A 2-minute safety briefing covers takeoff, in-air posture, and landing.
- Each client takes off individually with a pilot after a short 4–5 meter run.
During the Flight:
- Soar for 20–30 minutes through the skies above the Great Rift Valley.
- Flights are smooth, scenic, and often gain height depending on wind conditions.
- Clients get a GoPro and selfie stick to film their experience.
After the Flight:
- Land in a vast, grassy 70-acre field, where a shaded gazebo with refreshments awaits.
- Those not doing the flight can be driven to the landing site to cheer others on.
- Guests can also try ground-handling a paraglider, guided by the pilots.
- From here, it’s just 1km off-road to the Old Naivasha Road, with easy access to:

Best time to go
Paragliding flights typically run in good weather conditions, often during mornings or early afternoons when winds are ideal. We recommend planning in advance and checking availability based on season and group size.

Group Logistics:
- 4 flyers per batch, allowing rotation every 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- While waiting, guests can relax, picnic, or explore the summit.

SCHEDULE:
- 7 am Pickup – Spring Valley Coffee and drive to Kijabe Hill
- 9 am Arrival at Landing Field at base of Kijabe Hill
- 9.30 am Ride up to takeoff with motorbike taxi (boda boda)
- 10 30 am – 1130pm Tandem Flights off Kijabe Hill
- 11.30 am Snacks and Drinks at Landing Field under suntent/tables&chairs
- 1.30 pm Lunch at Café Ubuntu – drive back to Nairobi
- 5 pm Back in Nairobi
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Payment Terms
- A deposit of at least 50% of the invoiced training amount is to be paid at least 2 weeks before scheduled training block, or the client cannot be scheduled for that particular block.
- Deposits are non-refundable but transferable
- Balance payments are due at least one week prior to the start of training weekend.
